Landscape gardening services from one team, from the first sketch to the final flag laid. Design, stone, planting, timber and water, across West Yorkshire.

Six things, and most gardens want more than one of them. One team does the lot, from the drawing to the planting.

Garden design

We walk the plot with you, see how you use the garden, and draw a garden that fits the way you use it.

  • We walk the plot with you
  • We draw up a plan, review it with you, and work through changes together.
  • We build from the design you sign off

Hard landscaping

Patios, paths, walls, driveways and steps in sandstone, York stone and setts, laid on a base dug out and drained first.

  • Patios, pathways and feature circles
  • Paving, steps and walling
  • Block-paved and tarmac driveways
  • Levelling and drainage

Soft landscaping

Lawns, borders and planting chosen for your soil and your light, so the borders fill out year on year.

  • Seeding and turfing
  • Tree and shrub planting, including hedging
  • Herbaceous planting and seasonal bedding
  • Semi-mature trees

Sloped garden landscaping

Retaining walls split the fall into levels, and steps join them. A bank you could only look at becomes a patio, a lawn and a place to sit in the evening sun.

  • Room for a patio that is flat
  • A safe, level place for children to play
  • A garden that's easier to keep on top of

Garden water features

Ponds, cascades, fountains and bubble jets. Movement and sound in the garden, and low sun on the water, sized to the space you have.

  • Ponds and wildlife pools
  • Cascades and waterfalls
  • Fountains and bubble jets
  • Wired for lighting if you want it

What the trade words mean, in plain English.

  • What's involved in landscape garden design?

Design runs in three stages. First, we come to the garden, walk it with you and find out what you want from it, and what you do not. Second, you take the first drawing away and live with it for a while. Third, you sign it off, and we build from that design. We draw up a plan, review it with you, and work through changes together. How long design takes depends on the size of the garden and how many changes you want along the way. We give you an idea of timings when we visit.

  • What is hard landscaping?

Hard landscaping is the built structure of the garden. That means patios, paths, walls, steps, driveways, levelling and drainage. It goes in first, and the rest of the garden sits on it.

  • What is soft landscaping, and how is it different?

Soft landscaping is the part that grows. Seeding and turfing, tree and shrub planting, hedging, herbaceous borders and seasonal bedding. It goes in after the stone and timber, chosen for your soil and your light, and it fills in year on year.

  • Which service do I need?

Most gardens want more than one of the six, and you do not need to know the names. Tell us what you would like from the garden and we will suggest the mix. One team carries the job from the first sketch to the final flag laid.

We take on commercial work as well as private gardens. If you are unsure if we cover your area, ring and ask.

Send us a few photos of the garden, or ring. We come out, walk the garden with you, and give you a free, no-obligation quote.
